The Dubin Center is looking for volunteers who want to engage in meaningful activities with our clients at the center in Fort Myers and at partner locations around Southwest Florida.
The center is seeking volunteers to fill a variety of roles:
Memory Catchers: An engaging social activity held for those living with advanced stages of a dementia-related illness, while caregivers meet separately for their own support group meeting. Needing a volunteer to come to the center and engage in reminiscing with our group for one hour. It’s very easy and so much fun!
Games and Gatherings: Opportunities for caregivers, individuals living with dementia, and other community members to come together and enjoy classic games with one another at the Dubin Center. Activities may include bingo, dominoes, and more! Locations are at the Dubin Center and Interfaith Charities of South Lee for one hour.
Out and About: Looking for something fun to do? Join us in small groups as we explore various historic, art and community sights around Lee County. Upcoming events include the Edison Home, the Wonder Gardens and the Cypress Slough – all abilities welcome! Volunteers will join the group to add to fun conversation and help as necessary (holding doors, passing out water, etc)
Memory Cafe: An engaging social activity for caregivers and the person they are caring for to participate in a failure-free activity in a relaxed environment. Volunteer activities may involve assisting with art, music, reminiscing, and more!
Come tour the center and meet the team to learn about volunteer opportunities available at the center. Whether you can help just one time or on a continuous basis, the Dubin Center will help you find the right opportunity for your interests and skills.
